Gravity Magazine is an online publication started by Julian Crosby and brought to life by members of the National Association of Black Journalists at the University of Miami in the summer of 2020. In response to galvanizing racial unrest in our country, Black students at UM came together to not only foster an outlet of expression, but a safe space. Since 2020, Gravity Magazine has grown into a sizeable presence online and on campus. Several photoshoots, articles, and short films later, Gravity Magazine has solidified itself as the first magazine at our predominantly White university dedicated to celebrating Black creative essence and praising the sheer strength of the Black artistic force.
